SAY NO TO SUBSTANCE OF ADDICTION Over a number of recent years I have worked as a prison doctor in several prisons in the UK. In the process, I have experienced at first hand thehavoc that alcohol and illicit drugs can wreak in the lives of those addicted to them. Mainly as a result of my experience, I have decided to come up with the above-named book to highlight the problem of substancesabuse, and warn in, particular the youth, the adolescent and young adults to refrain from them. The 112-page book begins by considering some of the factors that can lead to addiction and offers suggestions as to how to overcome them. The bookgoes on to consider some of the individual substances of abuse, their respective effects on the body and the therapeutic options available to those addicted to them. The book ends with true-life accounts based on the actual experiences of some of the addicts the author has come across in his professional life.
